Ed has worked in the exotic car business for years and that frequently involved shipping cars around the country. Here, he tells us about how difficult that can be.
So what your saying there should be a truck company that only does luxury cars. Want to open a business with me?
any TRUE car guy would never have a car shipped .. so these people that buy over phone and have it shipped.. well they deserve what they get….. me if i was to buy any car/truck im f;ing driving it home….
How in the absolute fuck would you not spring for a premium delivery service after spending that much on a car. Makes me want to start a luxury delivery service my damn self.
What does Ed do for a living now?
Ed Springfield Transportation out of Missouri would of been the answer!!
9:05 Miss spelled Florida…
REAL MORAL OF THE STORY :1. An exotic cars dealer should know to ship with and insist on only ENCLOSED and ONLY LIFT GATE RAMP TRAILERS, just like the one moving Formula 1 cars, which would cost about $4000 from Atlanta to Los Angeles or Las Vegas, and about $2000 Atlanta to Florida or New York. (don't you think that a car that requires a $8000-$10000 clutch is worth $4K to be moved in a special trailer that cost about $180000 ??? )2. The dealers being to cheap to pay for the above prices, they deserve what happens. If I as a car hauler driver , I explained the customer that there is a risk and he insists to pick it up, if a small damage happens at pick-up, I would just leave the car there and completely refuse the load. Even with a video, the dealer can't go against my insurance because my insurance would only pay if the car would have actually been transported by my company, SO SEE NUMBER 1. PAY DON'T BE CHEAP
I move cars for r4 dollars amile
Florida spelled wrong at 9:13
White privilege at is finest.
<<<volunteers to road trip any exotics to your house from anywhere on the country with very short notice
When Ed said that the cops showed up at the dealership i died laughing
Florida is misspelled 9 minute mark.
Buys super expensive exotic car, ships it with the lowest bidder. You nearly always get what you pay for.
You want to pay dick all to haul your car then you get dick all
Sounds like i need to start a transport company and charge premium prices 🤔
Only just started watching you vlogs and been glued ever since, Ed I love the story’s you tell plus the others are pretty good too. 😁
"Ed….Did you just threaten to kill a truck driver?" 'Well, I wasn't serious, but that could have just happened… 'Sounds like my job, which I'm 180% done with. Real estate brokers are even worse than exotic car brokers… I've only worked in one of these industries… I can just say that real estate also sucks in every way. You think you'll make 6% on a sale…BAM here's 1%. DONE, bye!
After watching literally every video on this channel, I wanted to come back and say this is the best story on here.
I love hearing your stories. Lol
For crying out loud, these are CARS. They are designed to be driven on roads. If you need to get a car from point A to point B, then you drive it there. It has wheels and tires so this is perfectly possible. Putting a car on a trailer and risking tens of thousands of $ of damage instead of just driving it is insane. Also, make this car transport the buyers problem. Tell the buyer that the car is here. If he wants it, then he or she can pick it up, or arrange to have it picked up. If they don't like it, then no sale. If I was buying a nice exotic car I would be delighted to pick it up and drive it myself and have an excuse for a nice little road trip. If the thought of that did not make me happy, then I should not be buying a car like that in the first place.
Dude……this is horrifying.
Love Ed's stories, but is there any way to slow down the audio?
The guy kept calling Ed just to hear him talk. It's the same reason we all listen to 12 minute YouTube stories like they're only 30 seconds long.
Drove my 993 from Dallas to Raleigh. Could not stomach the thought to shipping the car after all the nightmare stories you hear about
The shipping industry is a psychopath!
You spelt Florida wrong
I live in MA and I was looking at a Car in Jersey. I could take a flight down there, drive it back and it'll be way cheaper than shipping costs.
I would love to buy an online course from you, do you happen to sell any online courses on flipping cars?
Ed: "I found a guy." Not, I found a company. Well, I've had a lot of luck with Plycar numerous times. But, yes…at a price.
hmm not to put my 2 cents but if my customer is paying all this money im hooking it up and driving the whole truck there myself
never understood why people wouldn't want to drive the car home, sure I get it if its in america several states over … I get it, but think for a second. If this is a car you've always wanted? wouldn't you want the fun 'memory' of driving the sexy thang home? learning its ins an outs, its little quirks on the road~ turn it into … yea a roadtrip, have some fun! enjoy the car on the way home and figure out your limits with it … within reason!
Got my first bike delivered mostly because I didn't have my full licence at the time and I was entirely impatient >.> … but my BMW S1000RR? ouuufffh I rode that home and will remember that forever, was such a fun day, I was giddy an energetic, excited~ childish! squealing over how awesome it felt to ride, the beautiful tone of its engine, how it sounded during quickshifts. Stopped at ace cafe on my way back, got into a conversation concerning the bike, let a fellow biker that was on a daytona 675r ride my bike whilst I tried out his daytona ( She felt amazing. ) after that, rode to way down south to this castle that you can only reach during a certain time of day, during low-tide, sat at the beach with some ice-cream~ an on the final length of the trip took her out on some smooth sweet twisties in the countryside!
Was an awesome first ride on the bike and by the time I got home I felt alot more confident on the bike, felt like I had a better handle on where its power was at and how much respect I should be showing the bike, showing its throttle an so forth~ learned how to use a quickshifter.
C'mon, Ed! Let's see the video!
After having 3 cars shipped, I can verify everything Ed said about the process of getting a driver.
They screwed up shipping my decade old Mazda from LA to ATL there’s no way I’d put an exotic on a shipping truck. Agree 100% with Ed!
My father had a limo transported and when it got to him it was clear that the driver had been sleeping and eating in it. idiots.
all they need is a set of ramps to load the car..
part of my job is loading race cars which are as low if not more than exotics. I have never ripped a bumper off. ever. all this shit is amazing to me. guess they aren’t the brightest bunch.
@vinwiki also recently had my race car (which is 3” off the ground) transported to california for nationals by another person in racing…. no damage. so we could do it for you. but it would cost at least a dollar per mile. and there is the problem you talk about in the video. haha.
Replace the word kill with charge or sue in the future.
This sounds like an opportunity for a very lucrative business where with the right people you can make some serious cash
One of the top 5 stories of all time.
I agree. I REFUSED to accept the shipper the buyer requested, and invited him to sue me if he did not like I would not give the car to a business run by well documented Russian thieves which 2 research showed, Satan would be preferable. I chose MY transpo to him after careful research, got lucky too, and delivered it to him without a scratch. By now? I'm 99% positive he wrecked it, and it's origami, which was his right. One of those guys with ZERO skills or supercar experience, that thinks it's a "normal car" like his !@#$@#$. Not my problem. Just NO WAY was I going to hand the car over to a business that basically, after 2 hour research, ANYBODY could learn was a criminal enterprise that happened to be owned by Russians. Agreed. HATE it.
Ed’s not lying! We shipped thousands of cars over the last decade and transporters can be very difficult to deal with; A high percentage of them will lie point-blank about responsibility for damages. Learn from this: when you receive your car, Never sign a bill of lading without fully walking around it. If it’s at night, pull out a flashlight. Compare any damages to the original bill of lading it was produced upon pick up at the selling dealer ship.
Sorry but I feel no pity, your rich enough to afford the car in the first place but want to be a cheap basterd on shipping .
I would go pickup my car
So The Mexican Who Couldn't Even Talk English Was The Only One To At least Make The Responsible Decision Wow Fuck Trump
